Program Approach
Wildlife Habitat Connectivity Corridor Development Program

This program aims to develop wildlife habitat connectivity, particularly for the Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii), to ensure that wildlife movement and genetic flow can continue, thereby preventing or minimizing the risk of extinction.
One of the priority areas with strong potential to be developed as an ecological corridor within the Pakpak Ecological Landscape is the Lae Ordi Ecological Corridor, located near Majanggut II Village, Kerajaan Subdistrict, Pakpak Bharat Regency.
The activities carried out under the development of this Wildlife Habitat Connectivity Corridor include:
Biodiversity assessments within forest areas proposed as connectivity corridors.
Forest cover monitoring, conducted through aerial mapping using drones (drone mapping) as well as direct field verification (ground checking).
